Excitingly Deprived

So much time, so little things to do. How boring it is when you're not busy ~

What do you think of a guy who celebrates Mother's Day by watching Eye Pee Man 2 with his mum?

I just came back from a fine dining lunch experience at Truffles, Taylor's Lakeside Campus. By just stepping into the college's entrance alone, you can feel there is a sense of pride instilled among the students as you pass them by;

Only the best can study here

Ooh...

Wahseh...

Booyaka...

A feature that makes this campus so popular, the lakeside

Sorry, couldn't get any photos of the restaurant though. But for once, I felt blessed to be living here in Subang. Apart from Sunway Pyramid, the country's elite institutions are all here; Taylor's, Inti, Segi, Metropolitan, Sunway, Monash, One Academy, you name it!

Honestly, I really wanted to study at any of the places mentioned above. Sadly, they don't have the course of my desired choice. It's surprising to see that despite a huge demand for graduate professionals in the sports & fitness industry, there aren't many colleges & universities that offer such courses related to the science of sports.

Speaking of Sports Science, I have hesitantly decided to study at OUM instead rather than Tarc. It's perplexing to discover that Tarc is willing to offer me the Sports Science course, but only at diploma level! The reason is due to STPM students whom were admitted at degree level in the past but were struggling to cope & eventually dropped out therefore from now on, only students with diploma qualifications of the same course can be admitted into their degree programs, not STPM nor A-Level students.

I tried to argue that since I have taken the Sports Science subject at STPM level as well as the Personal Trainer Certification course by Fitness Innovations with a foundation of Exercise Science background in it, I shouldn't have a problem coping at degree level compared to other STPM students. However, Tarc has decided not to take chances & asked me to repeat all the way from Pre-U again which is at diploma level!

God damn it! There goes my chance of catching up with my peers whom are already 1 or 2 years ahead of me. Should I manage to get a spot into Tarc's degree programs, I would have been able to graduate in just less than 2 years. Alas! I have no choice but to go to OUM instead which can drag up to 4 or 5 years upon graduation because their courses are only available for part-timers.

So yeah if I have to blame someone, it would be those STPM students whom had taken the wrong subjects during Sixth Form that were not relevant to their chosen courses. If just say you really want to study IT for example, then why did you took up unrelated subjects like Geography or History in the first place? Thanks alot! You guys are really smart wei! Seriously, give yourselves an applause!

My last hope, I hope

What I really want out of my university years is a campus life. In other words, a campus life is where I get to hang out & make new friends, join clubs & societies, represent the university as a delegate at special events & who knows, probably get a girlfriend! That is what OUM actually lacks in, a large space for students to develop their social & creativity skills. The only thing they have is a freaking library & a computer lab. Very disappointing indeed!

If that is the case, there's only one solution; do all those shit outside of the university. Surely it would cost me alot of money but definitely I can't afford to sacrifice my university years by just sitting at home, infront of my laptop doing assignments & studying thick reference books. Once I move on into the working world a.k.a the Rat Race after university, it might be too late for regrets!

Goosebumps, I always I get that before a race (:

The furthest distance I've ever ran so far in my life is 12km. Without a doubt, my legs will be pushed to the limits this coming Sunday. If I can finish 15km within the time limit (1 hour & 30 minutes) stipulated, not only will I earn a medal, but a breakthrough in my life as well. The Knowledgeable Warrior prepares himself physically, but is he mentally ready after a loss suffered during his last 10km run?
