Creative Juice Flowing

Yeah I know, I'm getting more & more lazy to revive this bloody dead blog.

Klang mari punya!

I'm getting fatter, not good!

It's Yimster a.k.a Uncle Yim again ~

He always can be seen running with that sarong tied around his waist. After the run, I finally decided to ask him why lah Uncle Yim, why lah? This was his reply;

"Most of the time we are so focused on winning first prize. Nothing wrong with that really. But once in awhile I like to think it would be just nice to go & have some fun by adding spice into your life, like what I'm doing now with the sarong. Especially in small runs like this, you should learn to enjoy the process rather than the destination (so true). That way you will love & appreciate more what you're doing"

Wow, I couldn't agree more on that. When I ask myself honestly, I too would also say that it is not really the medals that make me satisfied but rather the process of winning them that matters. Imagine the amount of sweat, tears & blood I have to shed throughout thousands of metres just to earn that little precious piece of metal. These are the things I experienced that made me proud as a man!

Indeed, the pain was worth it ~

I've been spending alot of time in the gym with my cousin Justin lately, which is a good thing actually considering how long have we lost contact with each other. The more I talk to him, the more I realized what kind of person he is; an intelligent man.

Felicia ask me to organize a jogathon right after Easter among our group circle of friends. I always thought of joining as many run as possible to add up my glorious collection of medals, but to organize one has never ever come across my mind before!

So I agreed. I told her let's just have a simple run, probably a short distance of 5km, sponsor a few bottles of 100 Plus with my own wallet for drink stations, give every participant a finishing medal, a few manpower to volunteer as road marshals. Each monkey will contribute a minimum of RM10 to cover the cost of running the event. If there's any baki, perhaps I could sapu & keep them for myself hehe! Simple as that!

I told my cousin about this during gym sessions & he asked me, " Why not make it bigger by seeking sponsorships?"

Me as the organizer? Sounds crazy, but why not, why not?

I tell you, those words impacted me to the core as if like the Red Sea was parted into two! The excitement of organizing a run made me feel like a kid on a sugar rush! Why have I not thought of this before? Brilliant, brilliant! I don't often give away compliments like this but my cousin, Justin Gerald Ng is a genius! I have no idea that getting a sponsor is as easy as getting something out of your pocket. Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's start planning!

"Sometimes it is better to begin the journey, to get under way, then it is to sit back and wait until such time that you're convinced that all conditions are perfect and that there'll be no surprises along the route." - John Engler
