The Greedy Battery

Besides running events, I don't know what else to blog about!

Yes, alot of promotion revolving this run

More than 10000 runners eagerly anticipating this event on the night of 16th April, ready to whoop some ass & make history with Sepang International Circuit chosen for the first time as the venue for a running event. By right, it was supposed to be the most electrifying run in all over Malaysia! But after going through that night, we (the participants) can all agree that the much publicized run was absolutely...undoubtedly, unquestionably, 100 percent completely SUCK!

In my experience so far as a runner, I have never encountered a running event so bloody badly organized as this before. Even words alone can't describe how horrible the event was!

Yes, it was literally nighmarish during the run

I don't want to go into details because there is just too many flaws to list out in this event. All I can say is that when business organizations decided to put profit as their main priority ahead of social responsibility to the public, something can & will go wrong for sure. Judging by the way they run the show, I already knew right before the start that chaos is imminent & just as predicted, all hell broke loose during that night. The worst part of all, I couldn't get my finishing medal & cert which I am entitled to in the end. Crikey God damn it!

If you're curious to know what kind of shit exactly happened that night, take a look at their FB page & read the comment posted there
. In the meantime, here's another run a week later. Pictures below belongs to 'Running With Passion';

Kinrara, awesome place to run!

My dad & I are somewhere around here (:

Most of the Kinrara area are still under development

Runners reaching the finishing line

Let's make a comparison between this humble Kinrara Metta Run (KMR) & the highly marketed Energizer Night Race (ENR);

Organization: KMR - very well organized, ENR - bloody hell!
Objective:
KMR - for charity only, ENR - it's all about making big bucks motherfeather!

Registration Fees: KMR - RM30, ENR - RM65.
Parking space:
KMR - ample, free & guarded by security, ENR - RM10 charged but no security guard!

Drinks availability:
KMR - 2 drink stations for free, ENR - RM3 for mineral water & RM2 for Gatorade.

Medical assistance: KMR - available every 2km, ENR - only at finishing line.
Race rules integrity: KMR - everyone ran a fair race & got a finishing medal, ENR - lack of officials allowing many runners to cheat by taking shortcuts. Runners ended up taking more than one finishing medal & cert due to officials negligence, causing others to go home empty handed!

I've learn that it is so much better to participate in a charity run rather than a so called international run with all kinds of marketing gimmicks. The latter not only allows you to join for an affordable price, but part of the money that you paid will definitely go back to society as well.

I also gave something to myself, confidence ~

The medal tally is now 5!
